By applying the principles of washing and using printed clothing, you can extend the life of your clothes, which translates into savings. Here are some tips that are universal for most printing techniques.
At what temperature to wash printed clothes?
We should wash printed clothes at the lowest possible temperature. We recommend washing at a temperature of no more than 40 degrees Celsius. We should only use a higher temperature in cases where stubborn stains couldn’t be removed.
When washed at high temperatures, the cotton may shrink or pieces of the print may peel off. If you would like the option to wash T-shirts at high temperatures, order from us T-shirts made of non-shrinking cotton, embroidered with computerized precision.
Don’t use a lot of detergent. Use the amount of washing powder according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Too much laundry detergent can lead to fading of the print and the t-shirt material itself.
Do not dry the shirt directly in the sun. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can lead to fading of the material. The use of tumble dryers should also be avoided.
How to iron a printed T-shirt?
Printed T-shirts should be ironed turned inside out. The maximum temperature for ironing cotton is 150 degrees Celsius.
This is close to the temperature at which prints are fixed. Therefore, ironing directly over the surface of the print could lead to peeling or smearing the ink across the shirt.
To protect the print from ironing, turn the shirt inside out. You can also use paper or cotton cloth to protect the print.
